Fashion Arts Foundation
The Fashion Arts Foundation aims to nurture collaborations and foster relationships between fashion, film, music and art talent. Through this strategy the BFC aims to highlight London’s position as a leading creative capital and reaffirm the UK fashion industry’s reputation for innovation.
The BFC Fashion Arts Foundation and the Royal Academy Schools have commissioned the Fashion Arts Commissions, pairing graduates from the RA Schools with NEWGEN and NEWGEN MEN designers to create collaborative artworks across art forms.
The BFC Fashion Arts Foundation has partnered with Peninsula Hotels to commission two short films directed by Jessica de Rothschild and Anissa Bonnefont. The fashion films, featuring British designers, put British fashion at the heart of the narrative. Find out more.
The Global Fund
In September 2013, the Fashion Arts Foundation funded an event to support the life-saving work of The Global Fund through a creative partnership with the British Fashion Council, Green Carpet Challenge, American Vogue and Red.
The event, hosted The Earl & Countess of Mornington, Anna Wintour OBE, Livia Firth & Natalie Massenet MBE at Apsley House, One London, was held during London Fashion Week to raise awareness and to show the British fashion industry’s support of the work of The Global Fund, which works to defeat AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria worldwide.
Britain Creates 2012 is an artistic project which formed part of our Fashion 2012 activity to celebrate the year of London’s hosting of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It created £3 million of media coverage.
The BFC/Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation (FAF) worked with the Mayor of London, London Organising Committee Olympic and Paralympics Games (LOCOG) and a panel of influential individuals across fashion and the arts to deliver this unique cultural programme and event which formed a key part of the London 2012 Festival.
‘Britain Creates 2012: Fashion & Art Collusion’, was an artistic project, providing a unique opportunity to celebrate and strengthen the longstanding relationships between fashion designers and visual artists. Susanna Greeves, curator of Britain Creates 2012 and our working party commissioned nine works of art, each a unique collaboration between an artist and a fashion designer.
